Permaculture Film Screening (March 2015)

permaculture_film_screening_march_2015_flyer_webJoin Trenton art-gardener Graham Apgar and local “permie” Dirk McGurk as we view some short films on Permaculture and discuss how we can apply it in Trenton, NJ. Permaculture is an open-source, underground movement of people finding new, harmonious ways to work with nature and with each other to grow food, build houses, reform our socio-economic system and more. By designing “permanent cultures” which care for the earth, animals, people, and communities, permies are obtaining astonishing success in agriculture (self-sustaining food forests which yeild 8x more produce per acre), shelter (houses heated with nothing but the twigs in your yard), economics (entire communites in south america becoming economically independent through proper land management) and more.

We are working on several community garden projects in Trenton, one of which involves turning a vacant lot into a permaculture food forest. Another is Aquaponics (growing food and fish indoors in a self-sustaining eco-system). If you’re interested, come check it out, and learn about permaculture – the fun way to save the world.

It’s Free. If you want, bring some food to share.
